Volume 2 of the Journal has a breadth of topics, from demolition of the mythology that has built up around Earl Henry Sinclair and his supposed voyage to America to the evidence of the leper from Deerness.
The contributors are Phil Astley, Assistant Archivist in Orkney Archives; Anne Brundle, Assistant Curator (Archaeology) for Orkney Museums and editor of this Journal; Bill Cormack, active historian and archaeologist and former Trustee of the National Museum of Antiquities in Scotland; Bernard Cotton, furniture historian specialising in British vernacular furniture; Walter Traill Dennison (1825-1894), folklorist, farmer and religious leader; Denise Findlay, former manager of Skaill House in Sandwick; Arlene Isbister, local artist; Theya Molleson, physical anthropologist at the National History Museum in London; HF Morland Simpson (died 1920), former Rector of Aberdeen Grammar School; Brian Smith, Shetland Archivist; and William PL Thomson, former Rector of Kirkwall Grammar School and local historian.
