The semi-feral sheep of North Ronaldsay have a unique genetic heritage.
Representing an early stage in the domestic evolution of sheep, this rare breed consumes seaweed and produces wool that is popular with spinners, knitters, felters and garment designers.
Elizabeth Lovick has published several books of knitting patterns and a workbook series for hand spinners and designers. She lives and works on the small Orkney island of Flotta where she spins and knits, researches and writes.
