Beachcombing in Orkney is an honourable tradition. There is honour among beachcombers: finds laid on the banks above the high water mark are the property of the finder, and may not be removed by any other person.
The first edition of Found caught the public imagination and was soon sold out, leading to the reporting of many more interesting beach finds. With the encouragement of the publisher, Keith Allardyce set to work on a much anticipated second edition.
This new crop of photographs comes with tales of sea voyage and shipwreck, farmer and fisherman, beachcomber and artist, fleeting glimpses of island life caught and preserved by lens and laptop.
