Shifting Shorelines

This is Highland poet D James Ross's fourth published collection of poetry, and it is an eclectic mix of responses to memory, the natural world, travel, music and the past. There are sections devoted to visits to Egypt and Africa, as well as further poems dealing with memories of Orkney. Beside sound poems and song lyrics written for his annual stand-up comedy event there are more serious poetic translations from the German, verse commemorating departed friends, and a major triptych inspired by Renaissance Scottish Choral music. In 2017 he was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire for services to Renaissance and Baroque Scottish Music.
