FEREDAY.

FEREDAY. – Dr Ramon (Ray) Philip passed away in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, Devon, on 29th September, 2026, aged 94, after a two-month illness.  Beloved husband of Jean for almost 73 years; father of Edmund, twins Catherine (Kate) and Mary, and Emma; grandfather and great-grandfather. Remembered as an Orkney historian, author and teacher.  Private funeral in Plymouth.  Donations in his memory may be made to Orkney Heritage Society, of which he was a founding member.

GRIEVE. – Michael Irvine, aged 96 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at The Balfour on 4th October, 2026. Beloved husband of Lynda, dearly loved dad to Athol and Moira, devoted dad-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Sadly missed by us all. Private funeral at his request.

LINKLATER. – Elizabeth (Liz) aged 82 years sadly passed away at Smiddybrae House on Thursday, 8th October. Beloved wife of the late Linay Linklater. Much-loved mum to Kim, loving mother-in-law to Pat, devoted granny to Zoe and Robert and much-loved great-granny to Rhys and Harri. The funeral will take place at  St Magnus Cathedral on Thursday, 22nd October, at 2pm.

Suddenly but peacefully at Tor-Na-Dee Care Home, Aberdeen on Monday, 5th October, 2026,  Isabel Gertrude (Gertie) Lamb McGlashan, nee Sinclair, aged 85 years.  Devoted mum to Mandy, Bridie and Barry, a doting granny to Alexander, Anna, Isabella and Harris and a dear sister to Madge and Billy.  A friend to many.  Thank you for the kindness, care and happy memories.  No funeral service at Gertie’s own request.  Donations if desired to the British Heart Foundation or RNLI.
