Death Notices

Helen Christina Johnston passed away peacefully on Friday, 11th September, 2026. I would like to thank all the staff at Sunnybrae Centre for the care and dedication she received while she was there. May I also take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Gilbertson Day Centre where she attended. Helen’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 23rd September, at 11am at John G Corse Funeral Home, followed by the interment in Orphir Cemetery. All welcome. Family flowers only please, all donations to Cancer Research greatly appreciated.

Thelma Lillian, passed away peacefully in Macmillan, The Balfour hospital, aged 76. Much-loved wife of Hugh, mum to Marie and wonderful granny to Shannon, Bryonie, Corwen, Stefany and Brooke. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Peacefully at Kalisgarth on 8th September, Thomas (Tom) Paterson, aged 92, formerly of Nearhouse, Westray. Much-loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and father-in-law. Very sadly missed by all.

William (Ivan), passed away on the 5th September, 2026, age 77, at The Balfour, surrounded by family. Much-loved husband, dad, father-in-law and grandad who will be sorely missed.
