Death Notices

CLOUSTON. – Isobel Jane, Kitchen Of Brecks, Deerness. Suddenly on Sunday,
25th January, aged 86 years.  Sister to Jackie, auntie to Douglas and a dear friend to many.

HOLLINRAKE. – Mary Louise sadly passed away at home on 8th January,  2026. A dearly beloved sister of Helen and brother-in-law Tony; cousins Martin & Fiona, David and Maureen and their families; Godmother to Kate, Neil, Hamish, Owen and Rory. Louise will be greatly missed by her many good friends on Shapinsay. The funeral will take place on Shapinsay on Friday, 30th January.

ISBISTER. – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Renee Bews (nee Firth) of Na Verron, Quoyloo on Thursday, 22nd January, aged 94 years. Beloved wife to the late Freddie Isbister, much-loved mother to Tommy, a granny, a great-granny, a great-great-granny  and so much more. At peace now and sadly missed.

MCINTOSH. – Hilary (nee Russell) Ferryinn, Holm, slipped away peacefully on Saturday,
24th January at The Balfour hospital. Much-loved wife to Jack, mum to Neil and Isla,
mother-in-law to Kim and Kevin, and granny to Elsa, Josie, Lucas and Vaila.
There are no words to express the family’s thanks to the fantastic team at Macmillan
for their care and support.

MUIR. – Dorothy, peacefully with her daughters by her side, Dora Muir, nee Manson, widow of Jim, passed away on 18th January, 2026, in Carnoustie.  Much-loved mum of Sheena and Pam, mother-in-law of Derek and late Paul, dear granny, great-granny, sister and friend.  There will be a gathering later at Finstown Kirkyard, date and time to be confirmed.

RENDALL. – Erland of Aberdeen and Durham.  Suddenly on 1st January, 2026, aged 54.
Beloved husband of Jackie, father of Molly, Rachael and Johnathan. Son of Ellen and the late Bert. Family and friends at Durham Crematorium on Monday, 2nd February, at 12 noon. Followed by a celebration of life at Bowburn Hall Hotel.  Family flowers only, any kind donations to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
