GOAR. – Evelyn Margaret (nee Wylie), aged 93 years passed away at her Edinburgh home on 22nd March, 2026. Dear wife of the late David, beloved mum to  Alan and Erlend, granny to Iona and Richard and great-granny to Ruaridh and Aila. Body donated to Medical Science at Edinburgh University. A service celebrating her life will be held at Marchmont St Giles church, Edinburgh on Friday, 10th April, at 11.00am.

PIRIE. – Peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, 2nd April, James (Jim) George Pirie of Willow Road, Kirkwall, aged 70 years. Beloved husband, loving dad, grandad, and brother. Who will be greatly missed by many.

SHEARER.- Enid passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, 31st March, at the age of 91. Wife of the late Davie and mother to Audrey, Vera, Michael and Cliff. Mother in law to Susie, Rhianna, Richard and George. Adored granny and great-granny. Deeply missed and fondly remembered by so many. Funeral will take place from East Mainland Church to St Andrews Cemetery on Thursday,  9th April, at 12noon.

SMITH.

SMITH. – Stuart, passed away aged 65 on the 30th March in Macmillan after bravely fighting cancer.  Son of Betty and  the late Bill Smith, husband to Ingrid,  father to Sigurd, step-dad to Einar, Sweyn and Aphra, a much-loved brother and uncle, a great friend to many, Stuart will be deeply and sorely missed.  Funeral will take place from John G Corse at 11am, on Friday, 10th April. All are invited.  Donations to Macmillan Orkney will be gratefully received at the door.
