Death Notices

SMITH. – Gordon of Cauldhame, Stromness, formerly of West Greenigeo, Orphir, passed away peacefully at The Balfour hospital after a short illness on 7th July, aged 81, and will be sadly missed. Thanks to the medical staff who attended him with such kindness.  Funeral service will take place at John Corse Funeral Home on Saturday, 19th July, at 11am, and then on to Finstown Cemetery.

WHITELAW. – Joan (nee Sinclair) of Lower Garthsetter, Birsay, passed away on Sunday, 6th July, 2025, aged 78 years. Beloved wife of Jimmy, mother of Jenny and Sandra, and granny of Thea and Emme. Funeral service on Thursday, 17th July, at Milestone Kirk in Dounby, at 1pm. Donations, if desired, gratefully accepted for Crossroads.
