DIAMENT. – DeLille Marina May (nee Porter) Farafield, Stromness, died peacefully on 27th January, 2026, at the age of 94. Although she will be missed by her family and friends, she enjoyed a long, rich and diverse life. She will now rejoin her late daughter Marina and late husband Morton.  Thanks to all The Balfour hospital staff who cared for her so well in her final days.

GRAY. – Peter, of Thorfinn Place, St. Margaret’s Hope, died peacefully at The Balfour on 26th January, 2026, aged 90. His funeral will take place at St. Peter’s Kirk,  Eastside, South Ronaldsay, on Thursday, 5th February, at 12 noon.

HENDERSON. –  May (Nee Campbell), passed away peacefully on 26th January, 2026, aged 87. Beloved wife of the late Jimmy, devoted mother to Wilma, the late Susan and David, mother-in-law to Bruce, Andrew and Pauline, adored Grandma to her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed.

LAWRANCE. – Fraserburgh/Maud. Peacefully at Chalmers Hospital, Banff, after a long illness on Saturday, 31st January, 2026, George Cruden Lawrance (Dod), formerly of Gray and Adams refrigeration department.  Beloved husband of the late Iris (nee Clouston), much-loved dad to
Raymond, Colin and Brian, father-in-law to Sarah, Anne and Susan, devoted granda
to his 9 grandchildren and a great-granda to his 5 great-grandsons, and a good friend to everyone who knew him. Funeral service to be held at Aberdeen Crematorium (West Chapel) on Thursday, 12th February, at 11.15am, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.
Family flowers only please, but a donation can be given at the exit door in aid of MND

SLOAN. – Irene (nee Logie) formerly of Buttquoy Crescent, Kirkwall, passed away at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Stirling, on 23rd January, 2026, aged 90 years.  A funeral service will be held at Morningside United Church, Edinburgh, on Wednesday, 17th February, at 11am.  She will be sadly missed.

WALLACE. – James Robert, Rt. Hon. Baron Wallace of Tankerness K.C.  Peacefully on 29th January, 2026, aged 71. Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. The funeral service will take place in St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall, on Tuesday, 10th February, at 11.30am.
