Death Notices

EDWARDS. – Patrick.  On 26th August, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, aged 64 years, after a hard-fought illness. The most wonderful dad to Catherine and Rebecca, and a truly amazing grandad to Nathan, Adam, Oliver, George, Michael and David. A man with a big personality and an even bigger heart. We will miss your laugh, your stories and your singing. Now pain-free and at peace, forever singing in the sky, and held always in our hearts.

HARCUS. – Peacefully, at home at Moar Drive, Kirkwall, on 26th August, 2026, Thomas (Tommy), aged 83, formerly of Smithyquoy, Westray. Much-loved husband of Margaret, adored dad of Moira, Elane and Olive, a dear brother, father-in-law, grandad, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. Sadly missed.

MATHIESON. – William Johnson (Will), aged 87, passed away peacefully on 19th August, at his home in Braeburn Court, St Margaret’s Hope. Dearly loved brother of the late Betty.

SMITH. – Derek Park passed away unexpectedly on 19th August, 2026, aged 66. He will be missed dearly by his daughters Yvonne and Vivien, his grandchildren, family and friends far and wide.
