Death Notices

CROY. – J R Marcus, formerly of 7 Faravel, Stromness, beloved husband of Innes, passed away peacefully in hospital, on Sunday, 14th June, aged 82 years. Much-loved husband, brother, dad and grandad. He will be sadly missed by many.

DREVER. – Brian Macphail, 82, passed away on 27th May, 2026, after his battle with cancer.  A very special person who will be sorely missed by all his family in Orkney and Liverpool – Allan, Rosemary, Roseanne, Samantha, Allan Jnr, Pamela, Edie, Diana, Susan and Tracy.  Taken much too soon.

FORBES. – Peacefully in Caithness General Hospital, on 7th June, 2026, Peter, of Airde-na-mara, Reay and formerly Toab, Orkney. Beloved husband of the late Margaret, much-loved dad of Helen and James, a loving grandad, great-grandad, brother and uncle.  Funeral service within Reay Village Hall, on Friday, 19th June, commencing at 11am, thereafter to Reay cemetery.  All friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, donations if desired may be given in aid of charity.

SCLATER. – Kathryn (nee Copland).  Passed away peacefully in the Macmillan ward on Sunday, 14th June, 2026.  A dearly loved wife, mum, granny, sister and auntie.
