Quoymorhouse heifer is champion in Shapinsay

A previously unshown, 16 month-old Limousin cross heifer from T. and J. Leslie, Quoymorhouse, topped the cattle at the 2012 Shapinsay Show on Tuesday.

Sired by McLarens Brogue and out of a Limousin cross Aberdeen Angus cow, the heifer will be one to watch at the County Show this weekend.

Reserve overall in the cattle lines was from Muir and Sons Gorn with a four year-old cow, by Aberdeen Angus bull Haymount Wavazoo and out of a home-bred Limousin cross cow.

Champion in the horse section went to Rachel Evans of Quoybanks with her show pony Wesburn Chevalier, while the sheep leader was a Texel ewe lamb from Emma Rendall, Braefoot.
