Orkney RFC’s First XV could claim the BT Caledonia League Division One title today, along with promotion to the national leagues, if they can secure a bonus-point win away against Hillfoots RFC.

Last Saturday, Gordonians leapfrogged Orkney, who had a week off, at the top of the table with a 64-0 win against Ellon.

However, the Aberdeen-based outfit have now completed all their league games of the season, while Orkney are due to play third-from-bottom Hillfoots this weekend and sixth-place Strathmore RFC on April 18.

Orkney are currently on 68 points, Gordonians are on 71 points, and third placed Highland RFC are on 67 points with one game to play.

Therefore, a bonus-point win would see Orkney back on top and out of reach of Highland, with a game to spare.

The match is scheduled to kick-off in Tillicoutry at 11am.
