Silverware hopes still alive after thrilling semi-final

Orkney FC forward Chris Hellewell bagged a double today to help Orkney reach another cup final.

Orkney FC booked a spot in the Jock Mackay Cup Final in an incident packed five-goal thriller against Halkirk United.

Orkney had to overcome the loss of their ‘keeper Cameron McConnachie with the stopper seeing his second red card in as many games for dissent at the half-time break.

Trailing 2-1 at the break and down to ten men, Orkney turned the match around in the second 45 minutes, with a Chris Hellewell double securing a hard-earned 3-2 win to reach the final, where they will meet Tain St. Duthus.

Mark Berry had put Orkney into the lead after ten minutes, before Halkirk hit back with two goals including a controversial penalty.

The final is scheduled to be played in Invergordon on Saturday, April 15.
