Success for Argo’s Bakery at national awards

Argo’s Bakery, Stromness has been awarded the Regional Bronze Award for their multisided bread. It was one of three finalists to contest the prize for Craft Baker of the Year.

Argo’s Bakery of Stromness has been highly commended at the 2017 Scottish Baker of the Year Awards.

As well as winning the Regional Bronze Award for their multiseed bread, Argo’s was named as one of three finalists to contest the prize for Craft Baker of the Year.

Unfortunately, they were pipped to the top spot by Murrays Bakers, of Perth. Prizes were presented by Mich Turner MBE at a ceremony hosted by Scottish Bakers in Glasgow, last Friday, May 5.

Ewan McDill, of Argo’s, was pleased to hear that the bakery had been recognised as one of Scotland’s best bakers.

“We take our business very seriously and use traditional methods and craftsmen’s skills to deliver quality every time,” he said.

“But we could not have come this far in the competition without the votes of all of our customers. Thank you.”
