The new brochure from the Orkney Tourism Group for 2016 was launched yesterday at the group’s annual tourism conference, which was held in the Pickaquoy Centre.

The focus of this years conference was ‘tourism in the digital age’ with 400 local businesses invited to attend.

Speakers included Director of the Science Festival Howie Firth, head of customer experience at VisitScotland Vicki Miller, Industry relationship manager at VisitScotland Lee Inkster, outreach manager at the Media Trust Peter Murray, Online marketing executive at Promote Shetland Kirsty Halcrow and associate consultant at LMW consulting Nik Sennhauser.

Joint chair of the OTG board, Ann Marwick said: “Although we know this is a digital age and we know we’re moving forward with the website, the brochure is still a fundamental part of Orkney’s marketing.

“We always try to make the brochure the best it can be and this year we it’s very fresh, vibrant and lively and is linked to our website. There’s a visible connection between the two. ‘
