After the numerous formal Remembrance Sunday services which took place at war memorials throughout Orkney yesterday, a two minutes-silence was also observed this morning, Monday, at 11am.

The date and time marks the anniversary of the World War One armistice being signed 95 years ago.

Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney Bill Spence is pictured along with WO2 (QMSI) Steven Waterman, right, and Staff Sergeant Danny Daintith, who paid their respects at the Kirkwall and St Ola War Memorial on the Kirk Green.
