Shrouded in fog in Kirkwall Bay this morning is the Cunard cruise ship Queen Victoria, making her maiden visit to the islands.

Passengers from the ship are being transferred by tender vessels to Kirkwall Harbour.

Meanwhile, at Hatston Pier, the cruise ship Mein Schiff 1 is tied up alongside.

In what is sure to be a busy day for visiting cruise liner passengers, between them, the ships have the capacity to carry almost 4000 passengers.
