Biggings bull is best in the yard

A 13 month-old Charolais male shown by W.R. Baillie of Biggings in Toab was named champion of the yard at Saturday’s East Mainland Show.

The homebred bull — Baillieston Georgie — sired by Goldies Champion and out of Baillieston Revege was also crowned supreme cattle champion.

Showing the winning animal, Rognvald Baillie, said he was “delighted” to have won the top prize.

Inter-breed champion in the sheep section was the winner of the Cheviots — a gimmer from James S. Baillie and Co., Sebay Farm, Tankerness.

Supreme champion in the horse and pony section went to the four year-old Shetland filly, Bayview Tess, shown by Laura Cromarty of Roadside, Toab. The animal was also the horse champion in 2011.
