Buchan set for return to Orkney

Alistair Buchan will return as Chief Executive of Orkney Islands Council later this year following his secondment with Shetland Islands Council.

Mr Buchan started his secondment as Chief Executive of SIC in August 2010 – with Albert Tait appointed as Chief Executive of OIC.

Under the agreement between the two councils, the secondment comes to an end on October 4, as does Mr Tait’s appointment as Chief Executive with OIC.

Shetland Islands Council are due to discuss arrangements for recruitment of a Chief Executive at a meeting on Thursday.
