Carol Smithard, who set herself the challenge to raise funds for the RNLI by walking the full length of the UK, Lands End to John O’Groats, including Orkney & Shetland, has arrived in Orkney.

If this was not enough of an epic challenge, she also set out to visit over 40 RNLI stations along the way, as well as climbing the three highest peaks England, Wales, and Scotland, and the highest hills in both Orkney and Shetland!

Carol, 33, is an environmental consultant from Dunfermline who set off on epic challenge back on August 10, having taken some time out from work to do so. So far she has raised £11,000 for the charity.

She plans to cross the finish line at the end of her amazing journey in Longhope on Thursday after climbing Ward Hill on Hoy.
