Local Fire Service plan open to consultation

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is giving the public the chance to have their say regarding their recently published local plans — one of which deals with the provisions in Orkney.

The plans set out how the fire and rescue services will be delivered from 2014-2017.

The Orkney plan states the nine priorities for the local service and how improvements will be made to the local service and the furthering of their initiatives of “prevention and protection”. Also contained in the report are statistics detailing the number of incidents in the county, offering a comparison with previous years’ numbers.

All 32 plans will open to public consultation until February 14.
