Graemsay taken out of service

The ferry serving Hoy and Graemsay will be taken out of service at the weekend.

To allow for the replacement of a lubricating oil pump in one of the engines aboard the MV Graemsay services will be disrupted from Friday November 9, at 5pm until Sunday November 11, at 9.30am.

Alistair Wylie, Ferry Operations Manager with Orkney Ferries said: “There have been a number of problems with the pump and hopefully this will provide a solution. It will mean the cancellation of two round trips on Friday evening and two on Saturday and we apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

“We hope we can minimise this by carrying out planned, essential maintenance, rather than than risk the disruption of a breakdown.”
