Hospital consultation events

As part of the consultation process to identify the site for a new hospital and healthcare facility in Kirkwall, NHS Orkney is to hold public drop in sessions in various locations throughout the islands.

The board of NHS Orkney agreed at their recent meeting, which was held in public last month, to progress with three planning application notices for sites at Grainbank, Corse West and Scapa, in order to reach a final decision on site selection in early February 2014.

A 12 week public consultation exercise is now underway covering each of the three sites. The consultation closes on January 23 next year.
