Kirkwall hanging baskets fully funded by community council

Kirkwall and St Ola Community Council will add a welcome splash of colour to the town centre this summer, after agreeing to fully fund the provision of hanging flower baskets along the main streets this year.

The move was backed by members as a one-off gesture to help Kirkwall’s town centre recover, after being so badly hit by the pandemic lockdown and visitor restrictions.
