North Isles football teams from Sanday and Westray go head to head this weekend, as the first round of The Orcadian Parish Cup gets under way.

Sanday, who reached the semi-finals of last year’s competition, host Westray in the first leg, which is to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday.

The first match of the weekend sees Flotta, Hoy and Walls host South Ronaldsay today, with kick-off set for 1pm, before the East Mainland derby between Holm and Deerness gets under way at the Rockworks at 3pm.

The 7pm encounter between Stromness and St Andrews rounds off Saturday’s Parish Cup matches, before holders St Ola host Stenness at 7pm on Sunday. The fixture between Sandwick and Harray, originally scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, is no longer going ahead after Harray scratched.

The return legs are due to be played on the weekend of May 24-25.

Firth and Birsay received first-round byes and will not be in action until the quarter-finals.
