Open Space Strategy out for consultation

OIC1Orkney Islands Council is looking for public views on its draft Open Space Strategy.

The document follows on from the council’s recent open space audit and looks to highlight potential areas where new or improved provision would be beneficial in each of the county’s five main settlements — Kirkwall, Stromness, Dounby, St Margaret’s Hope and Finstown.

The consultation runs from today, May 8, to July 3, following which the document will be revised and reported to councillors for approval.

The document is accessible from the ‘What’s New?’ section of the council’s website. Reference copies will also be made available at the OIC Customer Services, Kirkwall; OIC Cash Office, Stromness; Kirkwall Library; Stromness Library and Mobile Library Vans.

For further information please contact the development and marine planning team at the council on 873535.
