Morrison Construction has won two national awards for its considerate approach to two projects for Orkney Islands Council.

The company received silver Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Award for its work on the Kirkwall Grammar School and a bronze award for its activities at Pickaquoy Centre, both part of the £57 million Orkney Schools Investment Programme.

The independently assessed Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) award recognises construction teams displaying excellent standards of consideration towards their neighbours, their workforce, the general public and the environment.

The grammar school team were delighted when the CCS inspector awarded a score of 42 out of 50 for its performance and was praised for its exceptional performance in caring for its workforce, respecting the community and protecting the environment. This is a second consecutive CCS Silver Award for the team

On its first attempt to win an award this year the Pickaquoy team came away with a bronze award and were praised for their exceptional community relations and positive site image.
