Orkney FC are due to play their first home game of the season this afternoon as they get back into North Caledonian League action, welcoming Alness United to Orkney. An opening 4-1 defeat at the hands of defending champions, Golspie Sutherland, in September, ensured that Charlie Alway’s reign as manager got off to the worst possible start, however, with a new coaching team now in place, in addition to having time to work with the players, hopes will be high that they can secure a first victory of the season in front of a home crowd.

Alness finished second bottom in the league last season, eight points behind Orkney while the home side also have a 100% record over their opponents with four wins out of four, scoring thirteen and conceding none.

The match is due to kick off at 12:30 in Dounby.
