Orkney FC lose incident packed encounter
Orkney FCÂ suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat against Halkirk this afternoon in a match which saw five goals, two penalty’s and both teams reduced to ten men.
Halkirk opened the scoring after just ten minutes, before being dealt a blow as Gordon McNab was shown a straight red card midway through the half. They doubled their lead before half-time however to leave Orkney facing a mountain to climb.
A Halkirk penalty midway through the second half put the result beyond doubt before poor defending from Orkney allowed the league leaders to make it 4-0. A Thorfinn Stout penalty pulled one back for the away side but the match would end on a sour note with captain Keith Harcus given his marching orders for an off the ball incident.
