Overall cattle title goes to Odinstone

John Leslie, of Odinstone, picked up the overall cattle championship for the first time at yesterday’s Shapinsay Show. Leading for him was an April-born Limousin cross heifer calf, by Homebyres Fisher and out of a British Blue cross cow. The reserve supreme went to R and J Johnston of Hewan with a Limousin cross Novemeber 2011-born heifer.

In the sheep section the overall winner was a Texel cross Beltex gimmer, shown by Gemma Leslie, Quoymorhouse, while in the horse lines, the leader for the second year running was Wesburn Chevalier, exhibited by Rachel Evans, Quoybanks.

Today, the South Ronaldsay and Burray Agricultural Association will hold its annual show in the ‘Hope.
