Papdale Halls open for group bookings

With the new Papdale Halls of Residence completed, Orkney Islands Council is re-launching holiday lets of the rooms during school holidays, starting this Easter.

The halls will be available for groups to use during Easter, October and summer school holidays, when isles pupils are back at their family homes.

Income raised through the bookings will be used to supplement provision for the pupils who use the hostel during the school term.

Head of the council’s housing and homelessness service, Frances Troup, said: “This is not entirely new — the council used to hire out rooms in the old hostel. Now we have a fantastic new facility available, we’re keen to see groups visiting Orkney making use of it.”
