Regeneration of Kirkwall Town Centre – have your say

People are being invited along to discuss and give their views on the regeneration of Kirkwall’s town centre, at a public meeting today, Wednesday.

The meeting takes place in Kirkwall Town Hall between 6pm and 8pm.

Evelyn Mathershaw is the council’s head of strategic development and regeneration services.  She said: “The regeneration of Kirkwall is about increasing the prosperity of Kirkwall’s residents and businesses; improving the quality of life for everyone in the community and creating an attractive and sustainable place that we can be proud of.

“We’d really encourage people to come along to give their views”.

Other topics up for discussion will be the former Jewsons site, car parking, flood risk,  the Kirkwall Business Improvement District (BID), voluntary sector premises and the recently announced Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) funding for Kirkwall.
