Roadworks around barriers

Orkney Islands Council is carrying out various roadworks and barrier block placement this week around the Churchill Barriers.

The works being undertaken are:

• Sections of road are being resurfaced from the southern end of barrier No4 to St Margaret’s Hope.
• Placement of barrier blocks on Barrier No2
• Road surface repairs on Barrier No1

According to the council, there will be some disruption to traffic, however these will be kept to a minimum and hopefully outwith peak periods.
