Silent fundraiser for Women’s Aid Orkney

WAO-Col2A silent auction, to raise funds for women and children in Orkney affected by domestic abuse, is to be held in The Orcadian Bookshop next week.

Organised by Women’s Aid Orkney, the auction —which is set to take place from Monday, October 12, until Saturday, October 17 — has 30 lots for members of the public to bid on.

These include whisky, Loganair flights, a NorthLink voucher, Pentland Ferries trip, riding lessons, locally made jewellery, pottery, a child’s Orkney chair and creepie, local artwork, a year’s swimming membership at the Pickaquoy Centre and Orkney Master Chef Kerry Leask’s award winning meal prepared and cooked in your own home.

Michelle Robertson, from Women’s Aid Orkney, said: “We have some really amazing lots, so it will be a great way for folk to bag a bargain before Christmas whilst also doing something meaningful for an amazing charity.”
