Stromness lifeboat launched to RIB

Stromness Lifeboat was launched on Saturday night to go to the assistance of a rigid inflatable boat with five people onboard.

The boat had suffered engine failure, and a strong ebb tide was carrying it out of Hoy Sound in a westerly direction.

The lifeboat was called out at 8.15 pm and towed the RIB back to the safety of Stromness harbour.
