Planning committee in Hoy

Orkney Islands Council’s planning committee is in Hoy today, Tuesday.

Councillors on the committee are conducting a site visit in relation to a planning application for the erection of a wind turbine at the Longhope Lifeboat Museum. They will then consider the application at the committee meeting, in the North Walls Centre, which members of the public are invited to attend at 12.15pm.

This will be the third isles visit by the committee in the last 18 months, following similar meetings held in Westray and Sanday.

Chairman of the planning committee, Councillor Rob Crichton, said: “While the main purpose of our visit to Hoy on March 18 is for councillors to be able to make a determination with the site visit still fresh in their minds, we do encourage interested members of the public to come along and watch proceedings.”
