Warning over ‘legal high’ online store

Police Scotland and the Orkney Alcohol and Drugs Partnership are warning the public of a website offering “legal highs” currently being advertised through Facebook and possibly operating from Orkney.

PC Ruth Ross said: “We would like to remind people who choose to purchase or consume these so-called legal high drugs that there is no guarantee what they contain. About one in ten were found to contain illegal substances, which had been legal highs but are now banned under the Misuse of Drugs Act.”

According to police, there has been a rise in the number of people using and experimenting with legal highs in Orkney — some of which have resulted in hospital admissions.
