KGS are Young Enterprise winners

Kirkwall Grammar School’s Young Enterprise team — Treecycled — have won this year’s Young Enterprise Area Award at an event held at Orkney College last night.

Treecycled set up their company in 2013 and launched a limited edition of handmade Orcadian wooden prints.

The local awards are made up of five categories, with the overall winner going forward to the Scottish finals, held in Glasgow in June.

• Best Presentation — Treecycled.
• Best Director — Jessica Rendall, from Stromness Academy’s team, Øya Designs.
• Best Trade Stand — Treecycled.
• Best Website — Treecycled.
• Best Report — (For the first time ever there were joint winners) — Treecycled and Øya Designs.
