‘A Shetland invasion’ — Heavy Metal Buffet returns

Shetland’s Heavy Metal Buffet is back in the county – the second time this year that the mini metal festival has taken place in Orkney.

Heavy Metal Buffet was initially an online musical podcast, before evolving into a promotions group, using their skills in audio production, artwork, band/tour management, and filming to help launch local Shetland bands.

So far, all the Heavy Metal Buffet gigs in Shetland and Orkney have been successful, and the team are back for gigs in Kirkwall and Stromness.

Tonight, Friday, there’s an over 18s’ gig in the Royal Hotel, Stromness, before they head to the Auld Motorhoose, in Kirkwall, tomorrow and Sunday.

Acts performing over the weekend include Christ Alive, Nomadia and the Wind-Up Projectiles. Among the Orkney bands peforming are local rockers, Hybrid Constellation.
