Body recovered from the sea
Police have confirmed that a body was recovered from the sea east of Orkney yesterday afternoon, Thursday.
A spokesman confirmed that Shetland Coastguard received a report of a body in the water some three miles off Copinsay.
Kirkwall Lifeboat crew were tasked and headed to the scene, where the remains were recovered from the water.
This morning, Friday, a police spokesman said that, at this stage, inquiries are ongoing and a formal identification is still to take place.
