Christmas grant applications are open

Applications are being invited for this year’s OIC Reserve Fund Christmas grant. Those who received the grant last year will automatically be sent an application form for this year.

The grant is open to any person who is either, aged 60 years or over between October 1, 2011 and December 25, 2011, is in receipt of pension credits and normally resides in Orkney or a disabled person aged 18 years or over or a parent of a disabled child under 18 years.

Anyone who did not receive the grant last year but thinks they will qualify should contact the council for an application form. Forms are available from customer services at the council offices in Kirkwall; OIC cash collection office in Stromness; at www.orkney.gov.uk and via e-mail at customerservice@orkney.gov.uk

Completed forms should be returned to the council by 1 December 2011.
