Council give KGS update

Construction work on the new Kirkwall Grammar School is on track  to be completed by the end of this week.

A council spokesman said: “A comprehensive programme of inspection, testing and commissioning work will continue until the council is satisfied that all aspects of the building meet its specifications. This is a major undertaking on a project of this scale and complexity. A completion date will be confirmed once this phase is complete.

“Once a completion certificate is issued, the process of moving from the old to the new KGS can begin. The school has advised parents and guardians that this will take place over a five-week period.”
