Court detains man after Flotta police operation

A 61-year-old man is to remain in custody, a sheriff has ordered, after making no plea to a charge alleging threatening and abusive behaviour.

Carl Mullins appeared from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court, before a sheriff sitting in Inverness.

At the private hearing, his case was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody.

This follows the accused’s arrest after a police operation in Flotta on Thursday, October 15.
