Crews to consider latest offer

Talks involving arbitration service ACAS have been continuing between Orkney Ferries and the unions involved in the industrial action onboard the North Isles boats, with crews now set to be balloted on the latest offer from the company.

A statement released this morning, Tuesday, following the conclusion of the talks, confirmed the situation.

It said: “Positive and constructive talks were held on Tuesday under the auspices of ACAS with Orkney Ferries Ltd and the three unions representing the sea staff – UNITE, RMT and Nautilus International. These talks led to an offer being made by Orkney Ferries Ltd which the unions are now planning to ballot their members on.”
