Davidson does the double
It was double delight for the Davidson family who took the top spot in the cattle section of the County Show, just days after winning the overall title in the Dounby Showyard.
It was the homebred three-year-old pedigree Aberdeen Angus cow, Skaill Estella P117, shown by Messrs Davidson, from Skaill Farm in Sandwick, which won the championship, impressing both the section and interbreed judges in the Bignold Park today, just as the cow did in Dounby on Thursday.
A delighted John Davidson said that he was elated to win, adding: “You go to the show and want to do your best. Some days it works out and you come away chuffed, and today is one of those days.”
Overall reserve in the cattle section was a November born Limousin cross steer calf, shown by James. S. Baillie & Co, Sebay, Tankerness.
