Election nominations open tomorrow

The official Notice of Election has been published today, Tuesday, and nominations for the May 3 council elections open tomorrow, Wednesday.

Prospective candidates now have just two weeks to put their names forward to stand for election as a local councillor.

Returning Officer for the election, Albert Tait, said: “The Notice of Election marks the starting point for candidates. It is essential that candidates keep to the deadline for nominations as, by law, we cannot accept any forms submitted after the final deadline of 4pm on March 29.”
