Golden Eagle development will inject new life into Flotta Terminal

What has been hailed the “most significant piece of business” the Flotta terminal has been awarded since Talisman took over was announced this afternoon.

Talisman Energy (UK) Limited has signed an agreement to provide transportation and processing services to the Golden Eagle Development — a £2.2 billion project that is expected to produce an estimated 140 million barrels of oil equivalent over an 18-year period.

Construction of the Golden Eagle Development is under way, with the first oil expected in late 2014. Output from Golden Eagle is expected to double the volumes shipped through the Flotta terminal.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Flotta today, attended by representatives of Talisman, Golden Eagle, the OIC, Flotta Community Council and staff.
