Hatston Enterprise Area development brief consultation

A development brief for the planned Enterprise Area at Hatston will be published for a six-week period of consultation from April 19 to May 31.

The draft brief covers the land to the west of the Hatston Industrial Estate and has been prepared to respond to anticipated interest from developers following identification of this area of land by the Scottish Government as part of the Low Carbon/Renewables North Enterprise Area.

OIC head of strategic development and regeneration, Evelyn Mathershaw, said: “This draft development brief builds on planning and design principles established in the Kirkwall Urban Design Framework, and will assist the planning process for any development on these sites.

“The formal consultation period starting on April 19 provides opportunities for people to view proposals and provide feedback.”

The document will be available from www.orkney.gov.uk from April 19.
