Have your say on Orkney Local Development Plan

Orkney Islands Council is seeking feedback on the county’s Local Development Plan.

Views will be sought throughout July and August, with the consultation ending on the September 1.

The Orkney Local Development Plan provides a planning framework and is the main document used in the determination of planning applications. It details the council’s planning policies, highlights areas which may be suitable for development and those where development could be constrained by factors such as the potential for flooding, or national and international conservation designations.

A planning matters survey can be completed online or printed from the website and sent to the Development and Marine Planning Team at the Council. Paper copies are available from OIC customer services and the libraries in Kirkwall and Stromness.
