Helicopter recovered from the sea
The Super Puma EC 225 helicopter which made a controlled ditching into the sea north of Orkney on Monday has been recovered from the sea.
The Coastguard charted tug Herakles had been standing the aircraft before it was lifted from the water and taken to Peterhead by the oil industry support ship Olympic Zeus, which arrived in the port in the early hours of this morning.
An investigation team from the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB), with CHC’s full participation, has begun an enquiry into the cause of the incident.
