Line fault to blame for Vodafone service outage

Vodafone has confirmed that a fault is to blame for the loss of mobile phone coverage around Kirkwall today.

A spokeswoman for the company said that two masts have been affected by a fault in a fixed-line link.

She said: “We are treating this as a priority and we are working to get the service back up and running as soon as possible.”
