Met office issues severe weather warning

Orkney’s agricultural show season draws to a close today with the County Show in full swing in Kirkwall.

While the majority of the shows this year have been blessed with fine weather, this morning the Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the Northern Isles, but luckily it looks like the worst of the forecast heavy rainfall will be tomorrow, Sunday.

According to the Met Office, although there is still a degree of uncertainty, the remains of hurricane Bertha could lead to rainfall of over 50mm and gusts of over 60mph.
