Night flying for North Ronaldsay

Improvement works at the North Isles air fields are almost complete.

The works, which have seen the runways extended and new night landing equipment installed at North Ronaldsay, will extend the flying schedule into non-daylight hours, providing potential to enhance the service.

As the works need sign off from the UK Civil Aviation Authority before night flying can be authorised, there will be a temporary amendment to the winter timetable.

The temporary arrangements, according to Orkney Islands Council, are:

• The 17.00 flight from Kirkwall to North Ronaldsay will depart at 16.00

• The 15.10 flight from Kirkwall to Westray/Papay on a Sunday will depart at 15.00

•  The 16.10 flight from Kirkwall to North Ronaldsay on a Sunday will depart at 16.00

The temporary arrangements will run from October 28 to November 12.  Passengers who have already made reservations on the flights will be informed of the changes by Loganair Ltd.
