Orkney is open for business

Orkney is very much open for business, is the message from the community as the busy season for visitors approaches.

Despite the NorthLink ferry Hamnavoe  being out of service for a month, there are a number of alternative ways to get to Orkney.

This includes the Pentland Ferries service which sails between Gills Bay and St Margaret’s Hope, as well as the John O’ Groats ferry to Burwick in South Ronaldsay, which started its summer season this week.

The NorthLink Aberdeen to Kirkwall sailings are running as normal.

The usual air links from Kirkwall Airport are also on offer for passengers.
