Orkney scoops renewable energy industry awards

Orkney won three out of the eight awards at the recent Energy North awards, held last Thursday at the Drumrossie Hotel in Inverness.

Orkney Islands Council Marine Services won the Best Service Supply award against stiff competition for their ‘three port’ strategy to develop facilities at Lyness, Hatston; and Stromness to support the marine renewable industry.

Aquatera Ltd won the Best Export Award for services to both national and international markets. Dr Gareth Davies, of Aquatera, obtained personal recognition, taking the Ambassador Award for his work contributing to the development and ongoing facilitation of the sector within the renewables industry and the wider community.
